1. Make a vow to give this your best shot

2. Start to love yourself
We are not capable of making positive changes in our lives unless we start to really love, cherish and take care of ourselves. Make a promise to start practising self-love each day. Focus on your positive attributes, and treat yourself regularly.
3. Get to know your body
The best thing we can do for our physical body is to become attuned to it. No two bodies are the same; we all work in different ways. What works for you may not work for somebody else and vice versa. Pay attention to your body so you can learn to understand the different ways it tries to communicate with you.
4. Go easy on yourself
As humans, our hardest critics tend to be ourselves. Give yourself a break occasionally – you do not have to be perfect all the time (in fact, perfection is boring). Embrace your individuality and highlight your strengths. Never dwell on mistakes and remember our mistakes only make us stronger.
5. Be present
Too often we spend our time thinking about the past or dreaming of the future. In doing so, we completely neglect the present and race through life in a daze. Slow down, relax and enjoy each moment. Be present and aware in everything that you do.
6. Don’t diet
As soon as you put restrictions on what you can eat, your body will panic and start storing fat. You will also begin craving all of the forbidden foods which will undoubtedly result in binge eating. Instead of restricting yourself, focus on incorporating more healthy foods into your meals. Think of food as a chance to nourish your beautiful body!
7. Focus on becoming strong
Don’t think about fitting into a new pair of jeans, or getting a great summer body. Focus on creating a strong body that will help you live a long and healthy life. Functional strength allows us to easily perform day to day activities, and improves our overall sense of physical and mental wellness.
